NOTE: New Memories are added from time to time...

October 17, 2020: Bobby Russ

As time goes by, one can't help, but sometimes wonder what chapters in life will go by. I've been blessed with many things in my life. I've owned several cars over time. Some I loved more than others, but they were all useful for what I needed. After the tragedy, I thought I would have the car we picked out together for quite a bit of time. After all, it was only a 2015 and we purchased it back on Feburary 3rd, 2018. I paid off the car about a week before it was involved in my accident. Go figure... That's one reason why we can never say what the future will hold.

With this said, I want to talk about a memory with Renee Row. My old '97 Saturn had died out. We were down to one vehicle again. This made it tough for her to work the hours she did as well as for me. So, we started car shopping. I remember her telling me that she wanted me to have a vehicle that I had wanted. I expressed my desire for fuel economy and also to have a hybrid. I've always wanted one.

We went to one dealership and gave them specs on how much we wanted the payments to be as well as some of the features we wanted. They kept coming back with vehicles that were way out of our price range (by like $200/mo too high). We knew what we could afford. After the 3rd one, Renee said... Let's go. So, we went.

Our next stop proved to be our final stop. We gave them an idea of what we wanted and the price range. They offered to show us a couple vehicles. One was a Saturn Vue which we briefly looked at. Renee didn't like the color and just wasn't overly impressed. Then they pulled up the Sonata. She was already very much loving the color and the style.

So, it came to the test drive. I offered to have Renee to drive and she said... "No, you'll drive more often".... Which is true. She always preferred me driving. lol. She got in the passenger seat and started to play with all of the gadgets and what not. The test drive cemented it for us. We loved the vehicle. We went inside.

Then came the time for paperwork and signing. I always laughed at this part. I am the type that reads every last single word in the contracts that are handed to me. She told me (and the finance guy) that she will sign after I read it and said it was okay. So, after over 75 pages worth of stuff, the car was ours.

We were so happy to get the new car. It was the newest car we had ever bought together (or in general). They took the picture for us and we drove off together in a memory. I still smile thinking about that day. We were both very happy and the car worked well for us. It also saved me from what could have been worse. (Thank you Renee). I'm crossing my fingers because I think I may be getting a "new" car similar to the one I lost.

Even though I lost yet another piece of Renee, I will say that the memories we had in it will live on.
