August 14: Bobby Russ
I just got my internet restored last night. Often, we get used to people or things being there for us. We may
appreciate it, but we rely on it and don't give it a second thought. For example, every day I would set my
alarm via my google system. As long as it has internet connection, it works fine. With this said, if human
error exists like setting the wrong time, then things can also be a problem. If one does not wake up before the
alarm (or at it) and one makes the error in setting it, one could find themselves late for important things. In
the past, even if this system failed, I didn't have to worry... Let me tell you a little memory to help explain.
When I woke up and Renee was not home with me, I'd send a message to Renee. It was simply either "kisses" or "sneak a kiss". It was a gateway towards conversation and a reminded of how I loved her. Some days she would anticipate my waking (she always knew my schedule) and would text me first with "kisses". How I would love to see one more text from her with that... One more time seeing "love you". But, I digress.
If for some reason, I didn't send her virtual kisses, she would often text first and then call to make sure I was up. She always had my back as I had hers. I can't count how many times I stayed up after working until midnight to wake her. Make sure she got her kisses and her knowing that I love her. Even the final morning, I had stayed up until 3 am to make sure she got up and ready for work. That way I could ensure she was awake and knew that I loved her. These memories make my heart warm.
